Interim Lab Report
03 - 02 - 2021

Hi everyone,

Here's 'Household Names' another track from the upcoming compilation album 'Electrically Possessed [Switched On Vol. 4]'.

Written during a 2 week break in touring for 'Cobra and Phases Group Played Voltage in the Milky Night', the groop decided to go into Blackwing Studios to record a selection of tracks ‘old style’ - straight to tape. Household Names was one of 3 tracks written on the first day, according to the running order on the Fostex cassettes...

It ended up as track 6 on the double mini-album 'First of the Microbe Hunters'

Thanks to everyone that has pre-ordered a copy of 'Electrically Possessed - I know that there was a bit of a scramble for the limited coloured vinyl edition and that some fans missed out due to time zones or over enthusiastic spam filtering...

To try and rectify these problems we've come up with the following solution:
Future limited edition vinyl disks from Stereolab will be sold via a Duophonic UHF Disks lottery. No purchase will be necessary to sign up for the lottery.
How it will work...
If you have already purchased, or intend to purchase, a copy of Electrically Possessed [Switched On Vol. 4] on LP or CD then you will receive a discount code / sticker insert in the sleeve.

Redeeming the discount code will allow you 10% off any of these Stereolab disks -
Transient Random Noise-Bursts With Announcements / Mars Audiac Quintet / Emperor Tomato Ketchup / Dots and Loops / Cobra and Phases Group Play Voltage in the Milky Night / Sound-Dust / Margerine Eclipse / Switched On / Refried Ectoplasm (Switched On Vol. 2) / Aluminum Tunes (Switched On Vol. 3)
By making a purchase with your discount code you will then be asked to opt-in to the Lab Report mailing list, upon doing this your will registered for the lottery**

You will also be able to use your code to register for the lottery without making a purchase - register here - again, you will be asked to opt-in to the Lab Report mailing list**

If you don't have a code then you can register for the lottery by subscribing to our Lab Report mailing list - here.

[**Please note that subscribing to the Lab Report is a legal / GDPR requirement and the only way that you can be part of future Stereolab / Duophonic lotteries]
What happens next...
When we are ready to release the next limited edition disk we will randomly draw X amount of names from a combined list of registered [code] /subscribed [Lab Report] names.

Winners will be contacted via e-mail and given details of how to purchase the disk. The winners will have 7 days to purchase the pre-order limited edition disk.

If a winner chooses not to purchase the limited edition disk or the 7 day limit has expired then we will choose another name at random.

Disks will be sent out, via a trackable service, just prior to the release date.

Misc. details...
The lottery should stop:

  1. Fans missing announcements due to time zones
  2. Fans missing an announcement due to an e-mail alert ending up in a spam folder
  3. Fans missing out as they don't have access to their e-mail / social media accounts once we've announced a new release

The lottery will only be used for the limited edition version. All standard editions will continue to be available from record shops, online retailers and the Duophonic shop.

Only one disk per winner.

Each LP will be personalized with the name of the winner handwritten onto the sleeve.

To clarify - In order to enter your name into future lotteries you will be required to sign up to the Lab Report mailing list. You can opt out of the Lab Report mailing list at any time but this will remove your details from our lottery list.

We may use the lottery system for future non-Stereolab releases via Duophonic Super 45s.

Please contact us here with any queries.
And now for some animated Stereolab merchandise...
Cheerio,

Pikey
