Hi everyone, I don't think I've ever produced so many Lab Reports in such quick succession but you can probably expect another one next week to coincide with the release of Electrically Possessed Switched on Vol.4

Interim Lab Report

Hi everyone,

I don't think I've ever produced so many Lab Reports in such quick succession but you can probably expect another one next week to coincide with the release of 'Electrically Possessed [Switched On Vol. 4]'.
PRE-ORDER: ‘Switched On Vol. 4’

As announced in the last Interim Lab Report we are going to make future limited edition disks available via a lottery system.

Registering for the lottery is simple:

  1. If you already receive the Lab Report then you are signed up for future lotteries and don't need to sign up again.
  2. If you have any friends or acquaintances that are Stereolab fans, but don't receive the Lab Report, and may have an interest in being part of the lottery then please forward this link.
  3. If you purchase a copy of 'Electrically Possessed' and use your 10% discount code you will be signed up to the Lab Report.
  4. If you purchase a copy of 'Electrically Possessed' and would rather not use the code for a discount then you can still register for the Lab Report by using the code here.

Essentially, signing up to the Lab Report is the key to being entered into future lotteries - it has to work this way due to various legal / gaming laws.
Testing, testing:

To test the lottery system / mailing list we're going to give away 5 bundles of merchandise and vintage ephemera - the draw will take place on the 1st of March 2021, all 5 winners will be notified on the 2nd of March 2021. The prizes will be sent out within a week of the draw.

Each prize will comprise:
1 x tray / 1 x tea towel, 1 x Dots and Loops promotional sticker. 1 x booklet of 12 gummed Stereolab stamps from our IPR release and 1 x 7" red vinyl copy of 'Iron Man.'

The Super-It

Here's the final 'single' from "Electrically Possessed' - “The Super It” was first released in 1999 on ‘The Underground Is Coming’, a 7" tour single EP via Duophonic UHF Disks.

Tim explains:

[It’s] A kind of lost song in a way. Written not for an LP but around the same time as the Brigitte Fontaine “Calimero” 7” (in which, I think, it shares a big similarity) and recorded at the same time as the tracks for the abandoned Charlie's Angels in Space video game (“Fried Monkey Eggs” etc…) although this track was never intended for that project.

In our earlier days it would have ended up as a single itself but this was now the LP period of the Groop and so we ended up releasing it as part of a tour single EP. Immaculately recorded by Fulton Dingley, it sounds wonderful and certainly one of the best from the period. Maybe we should have waited a bit and put it on Margerine Eclipse…”
